Have you had this conversation before?
“Great! How was school?”
“Do you have homework?”
Can you find the problem? Assume your child always has homework. If the teacher truly didn’t assign any, assign your own. Make sure your child does something academic during your regularly scheduled homework time. Play a memory game, read for twenty minutes, write about what they learned today, work on an upcoming project, or review notes taken in class.
Never ask if your child has homework. You can always work on something that aids learning.
