Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market is making it easier to get a fresh start with their 31 Days of Healthier Meal Options. They’ve provided a printable New Year Fresh Start Calendar on their website and are highlighting a new meal option daily via their Facebook page.
In addition to a major shift in nutrition from what we ate last year (especially at the holidays!), the suggestions from Fresh & Easy include delicious prepared foods. These meals save time that busy grownups can spend with their kids rather than in the kitchen.
Foods that caught my eye right away were the Wild Oats Spaghetti and Beet Balls (yes, beet!) and Fresh & Easy Eatwell Turkey Lasagna. Working from home leaves me little time to prepare things like lasagna from scratch and I don’t want to think about how many calories are found in a normal store-bought or restaurant lasagna. Healthier options that are as easy as a trip to the local market are the way to go!
Included in the calendar download are recipes for two healthy smoothies, Green Detox Smoothie and Blueberry Power Smoothie, to enjoy when you have a little extra prep time. Kids will love them and you won’t need to mention the healthy ingredients like chia seeds or romaine lettuce hidden inside.
Other breakfast options include healthy breakfast sandwiches, yogurt and cereal options, Fresh & Easy Multigrain Waffles, and their Egg White Scramble Bowl. Lunch and dinner suggestions range from gorgeous pre-packed salads to hearty soups and heat-and-eat dinners.
