SuperHeroing with Big G
Do you remember the last time you opened a cereal box and found a prize inside? Our boxes of Big G cereal each contained one of the exclusive DC Comic issues featuring the JUSTICE LEAGUE!

SuperHeroing with Big Gadvertorial

Do you remember the last time you opened a cereal box and found a prize inside? It’s been years for me, but this weekend brought a fun surprise. Our boxes of Big G cereal each contained one of the exclusive DC Comic issues featuring the JUSTICE LEAGUE!

In case you haven’t yet been introduced to them by a kid in your life, the DC COMICS JUSTICE LEAGUE Super Hero team includes SUPERMAN™, BATMAN™, Wonder Woman, THE FLASH, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Cyborg. I grew up knowing most of them, but I’d have to say Cyborg was new to me and it was nice to get to know more about Aquaman!

Specially marked boxes of Big G cereals now contain four exclusive issues of the comic books and are only available until the end of April 2014 or while supplies last. Just choose your favorite and dig into a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, Honey Nut Cheerios, Trix, Cookie Crisp, and Reese’s Puffs. A bonus fifth issue is available in Cheerios at Target.

SuperHeroing with Big G

We started the weekend by opening boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Trix. The boys went straight for the comic books while I grabbed the scissors and proceeded to cut out the Green Lantern mask and Superman chest plate. They hadn’t tried Trix before, but loved it and we later had to mix the bowls so they could share.

I asked them to show me what #SuperHeroing means and, as I should have expected, they headed straight for the play house in our yard and showed me how to “fly!”

Back inside, they re-read the comics and we visited Cereal Heroes to read the second part of each story. If you’re a graphic novel fan or know a kid (or big kid!) who is, check out the site soon as these comics are only available for a limited time. Big G would love to see your superhero poses too. Just post with the hashtag #SuperHeroing and let them know your favorite super hero!

The kids and I had an adventurous and yummy weekend with Big G and JUSTICE LEAGUE and can’t wait to see which comic we get in our box of Lucky Charms next week!

Many thanks to Big G for sponsoring this weekend’s activities and inspiring some fun #SuperHeroing in our house!

How awesome! I remember getting prizes in cereal boxes when I was a kid, but I can’t remember the last time I saw one. My daughter is a HUGE comics fan, so I’m sure next time we go shopping she’s going to make a beeline straight for these. 😀

  • Awesome photos! Love Trix.

  • Marya

I have four young superheroes here who would love this. Thanks for sharing!

I love the fact that comic books are still a thrill for youngsters and their adults as well. I remember what fun it was to find any prize at all in a cereal box. We all love a hero so why not find something special from the Justice league when you’re eating breakfast?

I totally remember getting prizes in our cereal boxes! Those were good times! My adult son is still in love with the justice league, I’ll have to pick him up a box and send it in a care package, he’ll love it.
